Company builds on momentum with incremental investments to grow leadership and deliver innovation
London, UK, Sept. 28, 2009 -- Concur (Nasdaq: CNQR), the world's leading provider of on-demand Employee Spend Management services, has announced the promotion of Barry Padgett, from VP International Sales & Marketing to senior vice president and general manager EMEA at Concur.
This appointment underpins the strong growth undertaken by Concur in EMEA, with headcount growing across sales, marketing, R&D and operations by 75% over the last year fueled by new customer growth, a solid demand environment for Concur’s services, and Concur’s acquisition of Etap-On-Line, a leading provider of travel and expense management solutions in France. Concur grew its presence across EMEA in key markets such as the UK, France, Germany, Czech Republic, the Netherlands and the Nordics.
Padgett takes the helm at an exciting time. The company reported year-over-year third quarter revenue growth of 13% and was recognised by CIOZone as one of the fastest growing software companies. Since the turn of the year, the company launched Concur® Mobile for BlackBerry, iPhone and Windows Mobile devices, marking a significant development in travel and expense management technology for mobile workers. The strategic alliance between American Express Company and Concur has launched in several European markets including most recently in the Netherlands. New partnership agreements including global travel management specialist FCm Travel and VAT reclamation specialist taxback.com will put the Concur offerings in front of hundreds of potential customers.
“For more than 12 years, Barry has been a senior leader with Concur focusing on building and growing sales and marketing operations outside the US. We’re seeing the rewards from his deep expertise in the travel and expense marketplace, as well as from the drive and dedication of his teams,” says Rajeev Singh, president and COO at Concur. “We’re thrilled that in his new role, we will continue to draw on his leadership and vision to fuel Concur’s global growth.”
In addition to Padgett’s promotion, Concur has made incremental investments to help accelerate its growth by strengthening its European leadership team through a series of recent hires, and by retaining key Etap-On-Line leaders. Wayne Foncette joins the organisation as VP Sales, EMEA after leading the European sales organisation at Salesforce.com and Isabel Montesdeoca joins the organisation as VP Marketing, EMEA after spending ten years working in senior marketing roles in the European telecoms software sector. Pierre Higelin and Pierre Emmanuel Tetaz, co-founders of Etap-On-Line who have extensive industry expertise, join Concur’s EMEA leadership team as the senior director of R&D for France and the regional senior director of sales, marketing, and business development for France, respectively.
“Concur’s mission is helping our clients drive costs out of their businesses, and in the current climate it’s a strategy that’s hitting home. Our proven Software-as-a-Service approach means customers have low initial set-up costs, enjoy predictable monthly fees, and see returns within months rather than years,” says Barry Padgett, senior vice president and general manager, EMEA at Concur. “Combine our SaaS approach with exciting innovations like our new mobile offering, significant customer wins, and valuable new partnerships, and we continue to see Concur deployments being prioritised above other IT spend. With the right team, selling the right products in the right markets, we look forward to continuing to build on the momentum we’ve created in 2009, especially in EMEA.”
