Concur TripLink Now Includes Gamification Features, Enables Smarter Travel Booking with Greater Visibility into Spend

Companies can now encourage traveller purchasing behavior that aligns with budget objectives

London, July 28, 2014 - Concur, the world’s leading provider of spend management solutions and services, today announced new features for Concur TripLink, enabling businesses of all sizes and Travel Management Companies (TMCs) to apply their own gamification strategies to their travel and expense programs. The new gamification elements offer businesses the ability to incent travel booking behavior that fits within their travel and expense policies, helping companies achieve cost-effective travel management.

“We built Concur TripLink with the goal of helping customers encourage what we call ‘effortless compliance,” said Michael Hilton, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Concur Travel and Expense. “The new gamification features are designed to encourage the right behavior by enabling companies of all sizes to incorporate fun and reward compliance in travel booking. At the core, we are offering gamification to help businesses and employees effectively work together to manage travel spend.”

From small businesses to large enterprises – and across industries – gamification can be highly motivating for employees. For companies without a managed travel service, Concur TripLink is the first solution available to organize and manage travel and deliver all the reporting and reconciliation benefits of an integrated travel and expense solution. For larger companies with managed travel programs, Concur TripLink integrates reservations booked outside the system with all managed travel data for complete reporting and insight into employee spend trends and buying behavior.  New features include:

  • Price-to-Beat: Provides configurable price targets that are derived from predictive analytics applied to one of the largest travel and expense datasets in the industry to help travelers understand what they should expect to spend on airfare and hotels. Companies can set company-specific guidance, based on benchmarks derived from Concur’s database of similar trips and incorporating real-time data. For every air travel and hotel search, travelers receive target prices to beat before they book. Companies ensure costs are controlled while giving employees the freedom to seek and select travel bargains under the price targets.
  • Travel Points: Enables organizations to award points to travelers as an incentive for selecting cost-effective options below the Price-to-Beat. When employees book travel below the Price-to-Beat, they earn Travel Points, which can be redeemed for future travel and used to foster individual and team competition based around saving the company money.
