The Finance Shared Services team wanted to introduce a common platform for travel and expense management. The aim was to create a digital workflow (in the process removing paper waste) and simplify the approvals process.

Imperial Brands is a FTSE 100 company. It is heavily audited, by both its internal audit team and external auditors, and its corporate behaviour is under constant scrutiny.

Together, SAP Concur Travel & Expenses establishes a more consistent and dynamic approach to finance management. With Imperial Brands being an SAP user, Paredes-Marañón says the seamless integration was a major attraction.

Imperial Brands is now able to steer employees into the correct behaviours. These include class of travel, preferred hotels and car hire companies, code of conduct for gifts, and daily spending allowances. More categories, or new standards, can be applied dynamically.
